“The way we do work is not the same as it used to be,” Christoff Boshoff says to his DisruptHR audience knows.
“Yet we’re stuck in HR in the same way we’ve always done it,” he adds, leaving no doubt what will follow will be disrupting.
It starts, he tells the Edmonton audience, with changing the HR vocabulary. That is how to start seeing and thinking outside the box. No more using “but,” he says. “Failure” becomes “fascinating.” “How might we” replaces “we can’t.”
“We need to see our world, and our professions, as little playgrounds and laboratories where we get to explore every time, and find new ways to do things,” says Boshoff.
Spend the next 5 minutes with the director of leadership development at ATB Financial and you might just come away saying, “Let’s try it.”
