The “Liquid Leadership” That Change Management Demands

“Leading change is a critical business capability,” agree 95% of business leaders and others. Yet, says  Tyler Durham, “Change is usually over-managed and under-led.”

No wonder then, that in three-quarters of the organizations in the survey, “They’re actually discussing the fact that there’s change fatigue in the organization,” adds Durham, partner and president of Ketchum Change.

“Mentally, emotionally and physically, employees are tired of the change that’s happening inside their organization,” he told the audience at a DisruptHR presentation in New York. Few, though, at the highest levels of a company actually believe the fatigue exists.

But since change occurs at an ever faster pace, a different kind of leadership is necessary. And that’s what Durham details in his DisruptHR talk, presented here.

In partnership with DisruptHR, TLNT presents some of the best Disrupt talks from events across North America and now the world. Disrupt talks are modeled on the TEDx concept: Short, to the point talks on all things HR — talent, culture and technology.
