Best of TLNT: Top 5 Employee Engagement Stories of 2021

Employee engagement continues to be one of those areas of HR that we can’t define perfectly, but we still know it when we see it. Or when we measure it. If we measure it. We are measuring it, right?

Certainly, there is no shortage of consultancies that measure it, nor is there a dearth of HR tech vendor to help you derive some stats. The problem with many of these is that they want to convince you that engagement is abysmal in your organization.

For example, there’s a reason that many tech solutions like to cite Gallup’s surveys on engagement. It’s likely because the firm continually indicates low engagement among employees. But there are other groups whose research does not indicate that the sky is falling. According to a compilation of findings not that long ago, while Gallup showed overall engagement at 34%, AonHewitt’s measurement was 65%, while SHRM’s findings indicated that 88% of workers were engaged.

Point is, there’s a good chance that your company’s employee engagement score is not as bad as people who want you to hire them consultants and vendors want you to believe. Still, though, that doesn’t mean there also isn’t room for constant improvement.

With that in mind, here are the top TLNT employee engagement stories from 2021:
