Hack Your Application Process to Find the Talent You Want

Does your online application process look like all the others?

It does if you’ve accepted the conventional wisdom, which is, says Carl Schmidt, CTO and co-founder of Unbounce, “Make this easy. Make this simple. Make this streamlined. Do not put up barriers. Welcome people as quickly as you can into that process.”

What’s wrong with that? “It results in everything that’s a little bit the same. Are you trying to find people who are a little bit the same?” Schmidt asked his Vancouver, BC DisruptHR audience.

What Unbounce did was to change the process. A digital marketing platform company, Unbounce created a unique application process that took a more creative route to identifying the kind of candidates the company wants.
