Hiring Wisdom: Are New Recruits Really That Hard to Find?

A recent study conducted by the folks at LinkedIn found that, for one-third (33 percent) of the people who’ve recently taken new jobs, it was also a career change!

So, if you’re not looking for new talent outside of your industry, it’s time to consider this approach.

A client of ours in need of carpenter’s helpers followed this advice and got a much better response when they ran an ad on Cragislist.com that read: “Tired of working in a kitchen?”

And did you know most teachers and nurses quit after five years on the job? While they may not know your industry, dollars to donuts, they’ll learn in a hurry.

The key, as always, is to look for talent ─ wherever you can find it ─ and train for skills.
