How can HR balance being perceived as both the “culture keepers” and “the police”?

In her DisruptHR New York talk, HR consultant Dina Friedel points out that the role of HR is to be steward of culture, “yet so many employees see us as culture killers.”

To address this dichotomy, what Lin-Manuel Miranda did for U.S. history, Dina has done for HR. That is, she performed a rap.

Yes, a rap. Yes, about HR. Yes, it was fun.

“We want you to be healthy, balance work, with time to relax.

We want you to be wealthy, give you benefits, pre-tax!”
