Want That Seat at the Table? Then Take It!

Instead of hoping for an invitation, HR should crash the party and take a seat at the grown-ups’ table.

That’s the message Ed Baldwin, president of HRO Partners, delivered at last spring’s DisruptHR Denver meeting.

'Be fierce and full and just take your damn seat at the table. Why? Because permission is for sissies.'Click To Tweet

If you think that’s tough talk, just listen as he acts out a conversation between a CEO and a HR leader who is most definitely not a sissy.

You may want to tone it down unless you’ve just hit the lottery, but the message is that, “People are the most important – and that’s why HR deserves to have a seat at the table.”
